Chapter Twenty One: Thrawn’s Doomy Plans

While the matters down on Earth raged on, the Irken Armada continued its battle with the Galactic Imperial fleet. At this time, the British fleet had been ordered to retreat from the battle and orbit the Earth. Jamming probes had been dispersed throughout the atmosphere, blocking all detection devices and the Music channel.
The ‘Leviathan’ had by this time captured and detained the Irken boarding crews with minimal casualties to either side, and was presently under repair.

The Galactic Imperial fleet had moved ahead of its capital ship the ‘Executor’, and had engaged the Irken vessels. The ‘Executor’ however had taken about twenty minutes seemingly trying to turn around.

---- 30 minutes ago ----

On board the Executor, Admiral Piett stood at the command terminal for relaying tactical information and commercial broadcasting of orders from Lord Vader. Lord Vader himself was standing at the window watching the incoming Irken Armada.
As the Imperial fleets engaged each other, Piett walked over to the window beside Lord Vader

“My Lord, the Emperor orders you to make contact with him” Lord Vader turned slightly, his helmet gleaming from the over head light, his breathing heavy and mechanical as he paused before speaking.

“Move the ‘Executor’ away from the battle so we can send a clear transmission, I shall return shortly”

“Yes my Lord” the Admiral turned to the pilots below him “Turn the ship starboard and head away from the battle so as to send a clear transmission”

“Sir”

---- Present ----

“What is thy bidding my master?” Lord Vader knelt down on a small platform that lit up as soon as he did so, and a large holographic projection flashed and flickered to life in front of him. The projection depicted an old looking man shrouded in a thick black robe, a cane in his left hand, his face obscure in the shadows of his robes hood, hidden additionally by the static pulses that caused the hologram to jump and revert.

“Lord Vader, I have need of your presence at Endor, bring the ‘Executor’ and Death Squadron to Endor immediately”

”My master, Death Squadron is currently in battle with the Irken Armada”

“Yes I know, I have dispatched Dominance Squadron to relieve you of this predicament”

Vader seemed a little taken aback by the statement, rising slightly from his knee.

“… Yes my Master”

The hologram phased away, and Vader rose completely. He stood for a moment, apparently contemplating the information bestowed upon him, before turning around and leaving in his usual grave manner.

---- At the ‘Executor’s bridge ----

“This is Admiral Firmus Piett, I hear you load and clear”

“This is the HIMS ‘Wraith’, we will be taking over the situation, Death Squadron is to report to Endor at once”

“I’m afraid Lord Vader is the only one who may order this fleet to move Grand Admiral”

”It’s alright Admiral, the Emperor is expecting us”

Piett turned, seeing the frighteningly tall, dark figure of Darth Vader standing before him. Standing to attention, he bowed and ordered the crew to make the jump to hyperspace.

“I leave this situation in your hands Grand Admiral”

”Don’t worry Lord Vader; Irken art gives such insight to their battles”

---- Onboard the ‘Massive’ ----

“My Tallest, the enemy fleet is retreating; however sensors indicate that another fleet is arriving out of hyperspace in the same sector”

“How long until the fleets from the Core harbour arrives?” Tallest Red was watching the battle from the front window, his expression was impassive, however Purple and Oryt knew better.
Purple himself was running around the back of the room collecting various snacks in preparation for the expected victory. In a maroon coloured bag, he collected several helpings of curly fries, a set of doughnuts, an assortment of chocolate bars and a few dozen sweets.
Oryt was actually not on the bridge, though she did know that something was troubling Red. She was lying in the medical bay having her weekly screening for signs of her egg. Although she was quite concerned over the safety and condition of her child, she had noticed a strange feeling that distracted her from thinking of her baby, and made her think of Red. As she looked down at her enlarged abdomen, she put her hand over it and felt the slight pulsations of the being inside of her.
She couldn’t help but smile as she felt it, she was indeed happy about her pregnancy, and was exited in her own way about sharing the experience with Red.
Still, she was troubled, and the sensation of obscurity frightened her to the extent that she began to have visions of her love. Telling herself that it was nothing, and that having the baby was simply giving her a feeling of paranoia, she attempted to stay in bed. However, she found that the more she tried to block these terrifying images, the more anxiety developed within her.

“Doctor”

The Irken doctor was seated across from her, apparently reviewing some notes from a holo-pad. Upon hearing her voice, he raised his head and asked.

“Hmm? What is it Oryt?”

“Is R… are the Tallest alright, I mean, could you find out please” she looked down upon asking the question, feeling quite lazy that she wasn’t allowing herself to find out herself.

“Oh don’t worry about the Tallest, if the battle were not going well we would know about it, besides, worrying about the Tallest will do no good for your little smeet”

“I-I know, it’s just… that I…”

”I know, you care for him, and you have that dreaded feeling of the worst happening to him right?” Upon hearing the doctor’s words, she turned her head a little in slight shame, a subtle blush coming over her.
“I know the feeling, now lie back and try to relax; you have to keep yourself under control, any attempts by your PAK to stabilize your neural environment run the risk of accidentally harming the egg”

This Oryt knew, but she couldn’t help but worry about the feeling that seemed to shroud her, she hated the feeling, not so much because of it being there, but because she felt helpless to do anything about it.

“Doctor, I… I need to see him”

“Oryt, you can’t…” he stopped when he noticed her expression, which he had attempted to avoid so as not to be pulled into the emotional gravity well, although now seeing her distant and somber expression, he found that he couldn’t help himself.

“…Well… I suppose, I guess I could take you to the bridge after the screening” Oryt’s face filled with joy, not immediately, and not ecstatically, however it was grateful and appropriate enough for the doctor to feel at peace again.

“Now about that screening…” the doctor stood and began walking over to a small console with the Irken corporate logo shrinking and growing continuously on its screen.
“Now, let’s see how well the child is doing”

---- On the bridge of the ‘Massive’ ----

“My Tallest, the enemy fleet is recorded in the ‘Massive’s memory banks, it’s… the ‘Wraith’ sir”

Tallest Red was by the window still, watching as the previous Imperial fleet jumped into hyperspace, and an entirely new one arrived.
In the centre of a large number of supporting ‘Imperator’-class Star Destroyers (More commonly known as Imperial-class), there was a larger more powerful looking vessel, very similar to the Executor, only it looked different than its counterpart, in that like a nearby ‘Imperator’ class cruiser near it, it was darker and more sinister in appearance.

“Well call them, and tell them we’re gonna blow them up!” Purple said pointing at the large vessel.

---- The ‘Wraith’ Super Star Destroyers Bridge ----

“Sir, the Irken vessel is hailing us, what do you want to do?” an Imperial officer turned to the captain of the ship who was standing by the window above him.

“Redirect it to the Admiral”

”Yes sir”

---- Aboard the ‘Massive ----

“Identify yourself” Tallest Red stood before the large monitor that held the image of a tall Chiss alien, blue skinned with piercing red eyes like his own, and short military cut black hair. The being wore an Imperial white Grand Admiral uniform, rarely seen outside of the core worlds or out of their specified regions, even there they are personally rarely seen.

“I am Grand Admiral Thrawn, you the Tallest of the Irken Empire are a hindrance to Imperial activities, and demand that you either step down and keep with the Imperial treaties documented, or stay and be engaged”

“Thrawn, *scoff* you don’t scare us and *munch* we own this section of the universe, so you get out” Purple hovered up with a bag of nachos, scarfing them as he spoke. Red turned to him, an irritated look followed by rolling his eyes and turning back to the screen.

“Grand Admiral, we are fully aware of the Imperial treaties, and it is you who is invading our space, so leave now or be destroyed”

Thrawn looked at Red for a moment, as Red stared back at him.

“Stubborn Irkens” turning his head to the side “Captain, bring up the Star maps of this sector”
At his word, a large blue 3D map appeared behind him. Thrawn walked around the map.
“Bring up the divisions of the Imperial and Irken territories”

The map began to change, the one half of it changed to a purple colour, labeled in the middle by an Irken military symbol.

“Grand Admiral, this section of space we’re in doesn’t seem to be on the maps, this is a star map of a section of the universe on the western border of the Empire, we are no where near that area”

”Captain Pelleon, where are we?” the Grand Admiral starred off to the right of the screen.

”I don’t know sir, for some reason the hyperspace of Death Squadron brought them here instead of to the rebel uprising, and in turn we were sent here, but this space is completely uncharted, we have no records of this place”

“So what will you do Thrawn?” Red asked smugly

“Your attitude will cost you one day Irken scum, but until that day, I think I’ll wait” the screen turned off

---- Aboard the ‘Admonitor’ ----

“Sir, what shall we do?” Captain Pelleon inquired his superior officer.

“The Emperor gave me orders to remove the Irkens from our space, but since they aren’t in our space our objective is complete… however”

”Sir?” Pelleon tilted his head towards the about faced Grand Admiral.

“Have the fleet leave, but keep the Admonitor here, activate the cloaking field found on Ord Mantell and take us to the other side of the planet, monitor what the Irkens do and if necessary have Wraith Squadron come back”

”Yes sir”

---- On the Earth… finally ----

“HAAA hahahah, uh hu, uh HAAA HA HA HA, ha HAAAA!!” Zim laughed uncontrollably as he pulled at the two control levers of the Front line mech.

“Zim! Come on, we were here first!”

”SILENCE! Johnny, I have the giant robot, I get to blow up everything, and I’ll have you know I blew up more than any other Invader in the last Operation” Zim announced proudly.

“I saw the video Zim; you blew up all the other Invaders!” Johnny shouted back at him.

“That’s beside the point!” Zim shouted back, turning his head in disregard. Johnny looked up at him with a raised eyebrow

“Just stay out of it!” he turned around to face the would be opponent. Across the room the figure had not moved, the strange protrusion that hung from the thin extension that ran from the top of it still hung limply and unmoving.

“So, you going to do something or what?”

”My Mistress has ordered me to stop you and eliminate you if you attempt to advance, if you don’t continue I have no reason to kill you” Johnny seemed slightly confused for a second, and then became insulted.

“You think you can kill me? I’ve been through heaven and hell and have doubts that I can die, or at least stay dead if that wasn’t some really F%@#ed up dream” he raised his other eyebrow as the first one lowered.

“Are you going to leave or not?” the being asked in its usual monotonous voice. Johnny broke from his thoughts and began walking towards it.
“Halt your advance or I will be forced to rip your intestines from your living body and use it to strangle you with” the being threatened, still maintaining its deep monotone.

“Done it, not as satisfying as one would first believe” Johnny replied as he continued to walk in the direction of the shadowed creature, his metal tipped boots making a distinct metallic tapping as he walked across the cold flooring.

“We’ll see” The being began to shift, its movements mechanical and arbitrary as it seemed to move into some kind of attack position.
Johnny watched it move as he walked closer, eyeing the movements carefully as he anticipated it striking.
“You were a fool to even come here” as it made a swift movement forward, its limbs stretched out and pulled the limp object into the light of the room.
The being on the end of the mechanical arm was Irken, green skinned, standard Irken uniform, antennae and everything, the only problem with its appearance was its eyes. The eye sockets had no eyes in them, only a form of film on the inside that coated the inside of the socket. Around the sockets the surrounding skin was stained with a notable reddish colour that was turning a slight brown.

“Wow, you’re one of those alien things like Zim”

The dead looking Irken turned its head to him
“I am Kushuriken, guardian of the first floor, and I am you doom here and now for opposing my Mistress”

“Silence, you have two choice amigo, either you move, or I obliterate you” Squee under Pepitos influence spoke.
Kushuriken turned his head mechanically towards Squee, a red flash reflecting from the shining film coating within his eye sockets.

“I detect a presence within you, the Anti-Christ if I am not mistaken, come out of that child’s body”
Squee looked at him with an irritated expression.

“How can you know me?”

”My Mistress has met you before, though you did not know she was there, but she has uploaded much information about you, such as the fact that while in that child you can’t unleash your full potential without injuring the boy, or you may make his head pop”

”Very perceptive, so you must also know something else”

”That you can’t come out of that body until he stops needing you? I know that, and so does every one of my siblings”

Johnny held his knifes in one hand, using his gloves to wipe off little smears and dirt off the handles. He was sitting on the floor admiring the work he put into the cleaning and was actually quite pleased with the shine he was able to put into them while the other two were arguing about… he wasn’t paying attention, but all the pointless talking about Pepito and his Anti-Christ powers had long since bored him.
“Are you two going to argue all day or are we actually going to do something? Even if he just lets us through I don’t care, the sooner I can get to this Mel B@$%# the better, Zim needs to get out of face about this so we can just take over the Earth, get it over with and a whole bunch of stuff after that which I’m not aware of yet, but I am getting tired of sitting here listening to the two of you have an argument about S#%@, now either we do something, or I’ll kill both of you, which I’m not really bothered about doing!”

“You dare insult my Mistress!?” Kushuriken turned his head mechanically in annoyance.

”Yes, I dare to insult you pathetic excuse of a Mistress, I’m going to go up there, I’m going to walk up to her, and I’m going to rip her head off, then maybe I’ll drain her blood out or something, because although I don’t need to feed the damned wall anymore, I will, and do horrifically massacre numerous people, often with plastic cutlery!” Johnny yelled at him again, this time he stopped walking and stood in an erect stance with his fists clenched and aimed down. His neck lowered his head nearer to his chest as his near closed eyes glared with rage at the Irken cyborg mutant that… stood… kind of, in front of him.

“Then prepare to…”

“Die? Yeah, yeah, I’ve heard it, mostly from myself, hehe, just try it so we can get move on already”

”Not so fast!” Zim’s voice echoed from the gaping hole in the wall behind Johnny.
“I the incredible Zim shall fight as well, as I really can’t fight you in the giant robot like I wanted too, so I have to come in here before blowing up the tower”

”Zim, where did you put the Frontline Mech then?” Nny turned his head downwards to the short alien, raising an eyebrow to him in skeptical inquisition.

“Oh I parked it away safely” Zim made a brush off gesture with his hand towards Nny, smiling smugly in the thought of a well done job.
In actuality he had re-compacted it into its cube form and stuffed it into a nearby parking space between a convertible and a sedan, effectively crushing the two cars against the other cars on their other sides.

“You shoved it in between a pair of cars didn’t you?”

“SILENCE! And yes, but enough of that, we have this robo-thingy to… EWW!!” Zim looked at the cyborg like Irken and grimace overtook his face.
“What in the name of Irk has she done to you!?” Grabbing his lower teeth, he pulled down on his jaw.

“My Mistress has merely upgraded me, now prepare to feel the wrath of her genius!”

- To be continued
In this chapter, we introduce one of my favorite Star Wars characters, though he is far lesser known, Grand Admiral Thrawn. Grand Admiral Thrawn is one of several Grand Admirals of the Galactic Empire, second only to the Sith Lords in rank, and almost as influential in military affairs. After The death of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, he takes up the remaining Imperial forces and several fleets that no one knew existed and nearly defeated the new republic.

Anyway, enough of that, the point is he is really a cool character, and that is why I chose him to be part of the plan for the third books spark, but I won't give away any plot points.

As for Zim and Johnny, we'll see what happens next.

All characters belong to their respective owners.
